Alex Balfour is a Kern County native originally growing up on a small ranch in Tehachapi. Besides working on the ranch since he could walk, Alex took his first job at 6 years old working on the hot roofs of Bakersfield helping his father service AC units in the summer time. Sunburnt and sore, it was at this point Alex decided he should probably work in an office instead of the hot summer roofs.
Alex later went on to receive a degree from Cal State Bakersfield in Business and joined CBRE, Central Valley (which later became Cushman & Wakefield, Pacific in 2012) 11 years ago, and currently works on a team with Jeffrey Andrew and Susan Moreno.
Alex Balfour is now an Associate Director with Cushman & Wakefield, Pacific specializing in the sale and leasing of Office & Medical Office properties. Alex has consistently ranked as a Top Producer for all of the Central Valley with over 1,500,000 SF of deals completed and over $400,000,000 in transactions.
Alex’s team has completed many Landmark transactions such as the sale of the 154,000 SF Class A Kern Schools Federal Credit Headquarters located on Ming Avenue, the 75,000 SF relocation of Kern Schools Federal Credit headquarters in Seven Oaks Business Park, sale of the 213,000 SF AERA Energy Headquarters building, sale of the 265,000 SF Stockdale Tower I and II, a 40,000 SF lease with St. Agnes Hospital, and a 22,000 SF lease for Dignity Health’s Orthopedic Clinic located at Mercy SW.
Past clients of Alex’s team include Chevron USA, Dignity Health Hospital, LaSalle Investment Management, NexCore Group, Delano Regional Hospital, First American Title, Bank of America, Meryl Lynch, Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, Thurman Veterinary, California Retina Consultants, as well as many other great companies.
Alex’s achievements include being selected for Bakersfield Life Magazine’s 20 Under 40 to Watch (2013), being a past Board Member of CSUB’s Alumni board, past President of the Active 20-30 Club, and helping raise over $500,000 in the last 10 years for under-served children of Kern County through the Active 20-30 Club. In his free time, Alex enjoys hiking and traveling with his wife Kathyrine.
